Research Project (Insert Clever Title Here)

We started working on our research projects today. The first step is finding a question to ask that can be researched and written about... that's the tough part. I'm going to research why divorce rates were so much lower in the mid-1900's than they are right now, even though couples then were facing difficult challenges just like couples now. I'm going to talk about my grandparents and their marriage through some of the difficulties they've faced now that they've been married for 65 years.

  1. You've got a good idea going for you here. Take into account the reasons why your grandparents still married compared to a divorced couple. It may be a good idea to look at a recently married couple and look at those challenges compared to the older generation.

  2. Sounds like a good plan. I agree with Mitchell, the reasons behind can be a huge benefactor in finding good research to support your idea or stance, whatever that turns out to be. This is fairly similar to what I am writing my paper on, so I am sure there will be some similarities in our research.

  3. Great topic! You could dive into the numbers and research your findings. I'd be curious to hear what your grandparents would say was the secret to their marriage.

  4. An interesting, relevant topic for sure. You may find lots of different factors into divorce rates, and might consider narrowing it down to a few "main" reasons.

  5. Awesome topic and I think it's really sweet that your going to reference your grandparents. I like how relevant it is to our time and I'm sure whatever you find will be helpful to the future generations.
