Last night was Game 1 of the 2015 World Series between the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals. It was played in Kansas City in front of a sellout crowd. The Royals won the game 5-4 in 14 innings and it was exciting the entire time. The best story of the night in my opinion was Royals' starting pitcher Edison Volquez. On his way to the field to get ready for the game, he found out that his dad had died earlier that day in the Dominican Republic. He was sad but he decided he should still pitch and honor his dad. He threw 6 innings, allowed 6 hits and 3 runs and did a good job of keeping the Royals in the game and giving them a good chance to win. Game 2 is tonight!! Gotta love October baseball.
